CIMB Foundation Raya shopping programme for underserved children began in 2013. Over the years we have partnered with Kamdar, Tesco, Mydin and Giant to shop for Raya clothes and to assist ease their financial burden during the festive period. Each child is given RM200 to shop for their Raya clothes.

 

In 2018, we organized the Raya Shopping at 3 locations – Mydin Kuala Terengganu on 25 May, and Tesco Hypermarket Penang and Tesco Mutiara Damansara on 26 May. 

 

Effendy Shahul Hamid, CEO Group Asset Management & Investments, and Ooi Gaik Choo, RD 14, along with 30 CIMB volunteers joined 100 children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim Terengganu (PERKAYA) at Mydin KT on 25 May. 

 

Datuk Dr Richard Leete, Trustee CIMB Foundation, and Soon Le Meng, Head of Corporate Responsibility were entertaining 100 children from Pusat Jagaan Permata Kasih and Rumah Jagaan Harapan Al-Mahabbah at Tesco Hypermarket Penang. 40 CIMB volunteers helped out at the event. 

 

At the same time, Raja Datin Seri Johanna, wife of Group CEO, CIMB Group, and Dato Hamidah Naziadin, CEO CIMB Foundation were busy at Tesco Mutiara Damansara. 60 CIMB volunteers turned up to help over 200 children from the following centres: 

  1. Pertubuhan Rumah Anak-anak Yatim dan Asnaf (RAYA) Kampung Sijangkang 
  2. Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih 
  3. Rumah Amal Bistari 
  4. Rumah Baitul Sakinah 
  5. Malaysian Federation for the Deaf
