As much as Sivasangari Subramaniam looks up to squash icon Datuk Nicol David, CIMB Foundation sponsored squash player Sivasangari is determined to carve her own path to success. Since winning the London Classic last month, the 25-year-old has been cheered on by the country, and inevitably comparisons to Nicol are plenty as well. As she gears up for the World Championships from Thursday (May 9) to May 18 in Cairo, Egypt, the comparisons to Nicol are more prevalent as the former world No. 1 veteran has eight world championship titles to her name. Sivasangari admits there is growing pressure. "Generally, when you are doing a highly competitive sport, there's always going to be a bit of pressure no matter where you stand," said Sivasangari to the Professional Squash Association (PSA).
