Be$MART Shows Commitment, Bringing Financial Literacy to East Malaysia

KUCHING: Be$MART successfully ran its second session in East Malaysia with 48 students from Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS) here from April 5 to 6.

The programme is a two-day workshop covering a wide range of topics such as financial and debt management, property and unit trust investment and budget planning. Facilitated by CIMB Bank and training partner, Gem Systems Sdn. Bhd., Be$MART aims to improve financial literacy among youths nationwide to mitigate the growing number of bankrupt youths.

Mobile Operating Support for East Malaysia Mr. Song Khoon Soon imparted valuable advice to the participants at PPKS. With more than two decades of experience in the financial industry, the students hung on to his words of wisdom.

"People these days tend to live to a very old age. So you need to accumulate more funds for the future while you are able to. There are a lot of options available to you, so understand them and make informed choices."

With the positive feedback this programme has received in Kuching, another Be$MART session has been scheduled for April 12 to 13 at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
