CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad and CIMB Foundation (CIMB) have reinforced their commitment to supporting customers and communities through the Harapan Ramadan programme, allocating RM2.2 million to assist over 40,000 underprivileged individuals and families across Malaysia in conjunction with the upcoming Ramadan and Aidilfitri celebrations.

CIMB Islamic and CIMB Foundation Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Shahriman Mohd Shariff said that this year's programme is particularly notable for the CIMB Harapan Ramadan Berkat Bersama 2025 initiative, which expands market access for micro traders, enabling their businesses to reach a wider audience and grow. "Through Harapan Ramadan, we extend assistance to those in need and low-income families by providing essential resources such as food and financial aid, while also creating opportunities for micro-enterprises to expand," he said in a statement.

Harapan Ramadan is a CIMB initiative in collaboration with the Malaysian Youth Foundation (Yayasan Belia Malaysia) and Islamic Relief Malaysia. CIMB Harapan Ramadan Berkat Bersama, held from Monday to Friday (March 10–14) at the link bridge between MRT Muzium Negara and KL Sentral, involves 14 traders from CIMB’s capacity-building programmes, selling Ramadan and festive-themed goods, including traditional cookies, clothing, and home decorations.

The participating micro traders are from the CIMB Islamic Entrepreneurship Programme, CIMB Islamic-Taylor, iTAAJIR, and MicroBizReady CIMB Foundation.
