Sri Annan Hospital receives intraocular lenses

SRI AMAN: Sri Aman Hospital recently received 70 intraocular lenses (IOLs) through project "Rotary Brings Vision to Sri Aman" initiated by Rotary Club of Kuching Central (RCKC) in partnership with CIMB Foundation for Sri Aman community.

 For 2017, this CIMB Foundation Community Link CSR initiatives has committed to donate 210 IOLs amounting to RM55,000 through Rotary Club of Kuching Central.

The lenses are to be handed over to KK1M Mobile Clinic and Sri Aman Hospital.

This week 70 less fortunate and underserved individual had the opportunity to receive cataract operation and restore their vision.

Community Link initiative is a unique CSR programme by CIMB Foundation which leverages on the nationwide network of over 274 CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic branches to reach out to the communities served by them.

Community Link programme empowers the community to propose causes that will enhance the lives of those within the neighbourhood. Community Link has implemented approximately 800 projects in Malaysia since 2008.

Rotary Club of Kuching Central has been actively providing free cataract operation for patients from the low income group.

The first project was a cataract operation in Kapit in 2008 followed by another held in the Sarawak General Hospital Kuching in 2010 where patients were brought in from as far away as Sri Aman, Betong, Serian and Lundu.
